The Club has undertaken the following projects and programs to serve the communities of the Merrimack Valley in Massachusetts.

Project Name Description Kiwanis Leader
Citizenship Award An award is made to a high school student exhibiting unusual success in academic achievements and community service. One student from each of the high schools in the Valley is recognized with a certificate and a prize at a luncheon meeting.  There is one award per month during the school year. Camille Daly
Hennessey School Reading Program Read to kindergarten and first grade children one hour per month; once a year each kindergarten child receives a special sweatshirt, donated in partnership by our Club and the Bank of New England.  This program addresses the charge by the Kiwanis International objective of Young Children Priority One. Leahy School Reading Program Read to kindergarten children once a month.  Objectives are the same as stated above for the Hennessey School Reading Program. Glenn Rogers
Student of the Month An Lawrence elementary school nominee is recognized at a luncheon meeting with certificate and awards. A donation is made to the school's PTO. Jane  Ritchie
Methuen High School Key Club A Club has been formed and sponsored within the high school to function like a Kiwanis Club with fellowship and community service as its primary purposes.  The Club meets independently.  It is a member of Kiwanis Key Clubs International.  It has thrived for ten years. Lawrence High School Key Club Similar to Methuen; formed in 2012 by the Kiwanis Club of Greater Lawrence. Gary Finlayson
CLASS Aktion Club An adult club for people with disabilities at CLASS.  It operates like a Kiwanis Club and is also a member of Aktion Club International.  It too was formed in 2012 by the Kiwanis Club of Greater Lawrence. Nancy Kieran and Celeste Begley
Bike Safety  Club sponsors and runs a Bike Safety program for groups of children in the area, most recently through the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence; safety is taught, helmets are donated and distributed to all children, bicycles are raffled. Ed Hart
Youth Summit Recognizes middle school students from the several schools who belong to the Greater Lawrence Educational Collaborative Academic Bowl; they come together once a year at a Kiwanis meeting to focus upon leadership. Rene Roy
George W. Street Bridge This bridge in Andover was dedicated by the Town to this World War naval Distinguished Service Cross and Medal of Honor winner who was latter a Kiwanian; the Club maintains the shrubbery and removes debris from the Bridge once a year. Michale DeLuca
Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute As supporting members of the New England District of Kiwanis our Club helps support this enterprise.
